Lottery season is upon us again

The DV2016 lottery officially opened on October 1st, 12pm EDT and closes November 3rd, 12pm EDT.

Hasn't that come around quick!  It was this time 2 years ago I was submitting my first entry, with no idea I would be selected 6 months later.

If the idea of being able to live and work freely within the US floats your boat then now is the time to put your lottery entry in. It only takes about 10 minutes and asks for basic personal information and a picture. It's too easy not to apply.

Once you do apply, guard the reference number your provided with your life. You'll need it to check your entry in May. If you lose it, unfortunately you can consider yourself unsuccessful.

There are a bunch of sites claiming to ensure your entry doesn't get rejected and even provide you with a better chance of being selected for an often pricey fee, be warned, these are SCAMMERS. Entry to the lottery is free, and there is only one way to do it. Via the governments official entry site which looks like this -

If you're feeling like a good read, a laugh and a bit of inspiration then head over to fellow Aussie Adrian Crawford's blog Crawfin' USA.

Still can't get enough of how awesome it is to win the lottery? Then Aussie Bernie Watt has got you covered over at BernieWatt.

My only advice is APPLY, APPLY, APPLY (but only apply once or you'll be disqualified). You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain, someone has to win!
